MULTI-
SPORTS
PLAY LEARN GROW
Overview:
The multi-sports program allows each child to try a variety of sports. Each week, children will have the opportunity to explore and develop a specific sport before moving on to the next.
Students will be split into age appropriate groups that will:
Develop an understanding of safety, respecting their teammates, teamwork, skill development, fair play and self-discipline whilst inspiring a lifelong love of physical activity.
Students will develop their motor skills in a fun and interactive way, improve strength and endurance, and increase fitness. The program also helps students to develop social skills, build confidence, and encourages them to be part of a team.
PLAY
3 to 4 Years
We start to look at the fundamentals movements while playing.
We start to look at the sport being delivered. Children are beginning to understand basic rules and develop social skills. They are usually starting to gain confidence in their basic movement skills, such as running, jumping and throwing.
LEARN
5 to 6 Years
Enhancing confidence and basic sport skills through teamwork and communication.
The fundamental movement skills are now understood and known by the children. We can start thinking about refining their existing skills, such as dribbling, kicking, and striking, with more difficult activities. With a greater emphasis
GROW
7 to 8 Years
Nurturing sport-specific skills and principles for a broad athletic development.
This multi-sport group is taught at a faster pace, with tasks gradually becoming more complex and sport specific. Students will have numerous opportunities to gain a more in-depth understanding of each sport. Students would have developed a wide range of sports skills by the end of this group, which they could identify and hopefully pursue further.
Trading Cards
Each week the children are given a trading card for their achievement. These trading cards have the
basic skill information they learnt during the session.
Can they collect a full set?
